About
Hello! I'm Taís (pronounced tah-eese) and I've been a graphic designer since 2016, but my creative journey started long before that. I immigrated to Canada from Brazil when I was almost 12 and I was so shy that instead of trying to make new friends, I spent hours on my computer playing with Photoshop and HTML. I hardly spoke English or French, but I expressed myself through art and code.
When it was time to pick a career path, I had a tough choice to make - science or art. I love both to this day, but my art teacher nudged me towards the creative direction. So I completed a Fine Arts Bachelors from Concordia University (Montreal, Canada) in 2014. During my time there, my roommates were graphic designers. Watching them work was one of my favorite hobbies.
And then, it clicked. I realized that graphic design gave me the structure that I missed in science while still allowing me to be creative. So, I decided to hone my skills even further and study Graphic Design after my Fine Arts degree.
At the end of 2019, I packed up my bags and moved to the country with my partner. Now I work from a cozy riverside home where the quiet rural setting gives me the space to truly focus on each project. There's something about being surrounded by nature that lets me dive deeper into my craft, taking the time each design deserves.
My approach is intentionally unhurried – I believe in crafting tailored, timeless designs that stand the test of time. Each project gets my full attention and presence, with space for ideas to breathe and evolve.
When I'm not designing, you'll find me participating in community gatherings, dancing, singing, drawing and spending time at the pottery studio.
